NCN study visit!
We are pleased to inform that on Friday, October 7, at the Faculty of Biology of the University of Gdańsk, we hosted representatives of the National Science Center, the National Center for Research and Development, the Research Council of Norway, the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, and Mrs Weronika Haustein – Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Norway.
The visit was organized by Dr. Anna-Karina Kaczorowska, Curator of the Collection of Plasmids and Microorganisms (KPD), and Prof. Tadeusz Kaczorowski from the Laboratory of Extremophiles Biology Department of Microbiology – Project Leader. The purpose of the meeting was to provide an overview of the implementation of the international research project INDEPTH | Life at the limits: diversity, adaptation strategies, and bioprospecting of microorganisms living in the Arctic deep-sea habitats financed by the Norwegian Funds.
During their visit to the laboratories of the Department of Microbiology and the Collection of Plasmids and Microorganisms, guests had the opportunity to see the unique, state-of-the-art scientific equipment used to conduct research under the INDEPTH project, as well as other research projects financed by the National Science Center, carried out in cooperation with scientists from the Medical University of Gdańsk.
The study visit followed up the one-day conference organized by the National Science Center, presenting research projects on polar and climate research financed by Norwegian and EEA funds. More information about the event is at https://programbadania2022konferencja.pl/
